Brophy Bros. Seafood Restaurant & Clam Bar at 1559 Spinnaker Drive, Ventura, California.

First time to Brophy Bros. Nice upstairs location with great views of the harbor/boats. Booth seating is hard wood benches or tables not close to the view. 3 of our party had the Shrimp and Crab Salad. The portion size was generous. Loved the Basil Vinagrette. The sourdough bread w as yummy/chewy and there was plenty. One in our party had a Albacore? Poke Salad, which she asked to be cooked well. It arrived partially pink and was returned for additional cooking. It was good, although considerably smaller than the other salads. Prices for salads were in the mid-teens. The 'other" side of the menu had meals in the mid-twenties, too much for my lunch budget, although they looked promising. Overall, pleasant servers and good food. I wouldn't order the same salad again. Nothing to write home about.

A great place for seafood. Go for happy hour and sit at the bar. You will meet chatty locals and get a view out the windows of the gorgeous Ventura and Santa Barbara Hills. The bartenders pour to the top and are gregarious. They have a great happy hour menu (steamed clams are excellent) and the grilled fish sandwich is a family favorite. Get there early because there will be a wait starting around 6:30.
